Consider giving the gift of leadership and health to an East NY Farms!

(c) 2010 ENYFarms

Our youth leaders did amazing work this year! We worked with 21 first year interns, 12 returning interns and 5 alumni youth in our externship program at partner organizations. Youth built over 70 raised beds for local gardens, grew over 7,000 lbs. of food for our community on our ½ acre urban farm, and cooked 14 delicious fresh from the garden meals for their fellow interns.

One thing that helps our youth grow as leaders and community change makers is attending conferences to learn and share ideas with other programs. Because this is also expensive and hard to prioritize financially, we are asking for your help!

Please help us send one youth and staff member to the Rooted In Community (RIC) Winter Institute. RIC is a national grassroots network of youth and adults committed to fostering healthy communities and food justice through urban and rural agriculture, community gardening, food security, and related
environmental work. The 3 youth who attended the RIC Summer conference were so inspired they designed their own workshop for fellow interns on how to get involved with the RIC-generated Youth Food Bill of Rights campaign. The RIC Winter Institute is an opportunity to grow personally and professionally and bring what we’ve learned back to East New York Farms!

We are hoping to raise $1000 in conference fees and travel expenses to Tucson, AZ by Dec 15th (our last day to register!). If only 20 people give $50.00 each, we can meet our goal. Any amount is appreciated! Please contact us as well if you have extra frequent flier miles that you are willing to transfer.

You can make your donation through:
